ROBERT, WHO?
Robert Burns was born on the 25th January 1759 and became a poet and a lyricist. He is widely regarded as Scotland‘s national poet. He was renowned for writing in the Scottish language. In some pieces his political commentary is often blunt and politically incorrect!
Burns also collected folk songs from across Scotland, often revising or adapting them. His most well-known poem, «Auld Lang Syne» is often sung to celebrate the New Year. Burns night is celebrated, as the second national day of Scotland, on the 25th January with a traditional Burns supper
